Batman has a unique place in the history of cinema. The actors who portrayed the Dark Knight, each reflecting the spirit of their own era, brought this iconic character to the screen in different tones. Almost everyone has a memory of Batman for over 80 years. Sometimes gothic and dark, sometimes sarcastic and sometimes realistic. Batman, a character who managed to fill movie theaters for such a long time, first came to the screens in 1943 with Lewis Wilson. Wilson wore the mask in a low-budget serial film; it was a naive but brave start. Then, in 1949, Robert Lowery took over the role with a similar simplicity. However, it was Adam West's colorful and absurd interpretation in 1966 that made Batman a pop culture icon. After a long break, Michael Keaton came on stage in 1989 with Tim Burton's gothic vision along with the atmosphere of the 1980s. His performance, which blended fragility and darkness, redefined Batman. As the 90s progressed, Val Kilmer starred in the colorful but unbalanced “Batman Forever” in 1995; it was a competent performance but was overshadowed. George Clooney, on the other hand, made a cartoonish disaster with “Batman & Robin” in 1997 and took his place in cinema history as the most unsuccessful attempt. In the 2000s, Christian Bale took the character to the top with depth and realism in Nolan's epic trilogy. No one tried to reach the line drawn by Nolan for the Batman character after this trilogy. Ben Affleck, who blended the new with the old with a different perspective, presented a tough and tired Batman in 2016. Some did not like it, but his performance was impressive. Finally, Robert Pattinson brought a breath of fresh air by bringing his detective spirit to the fore in 2022. Each actor left their own mark on Batman's multifaceted legacy; this legend of cinema was reborn in their hands. Your favorite performance may be more superheroic, or in a more vulnerable style. However, I am sure that you like one of these performances the most, each of which has deserved its place in the history of cinema. Share it with us by voting for your preference and ensuring that your hero is at the top of the list.
