Interview with Tamara Formoso, Sales & Marketing Director at The Weinmeister Hotel from Berlin

The Weinmeister Hotel, when set up in 2010, did not prefer to offer standard rooms to guests, this hotel, located in Berlin-Mitte, has designed private rooms with the aim of providing different experiences to their guests. They are walking on a different line with the design rooms they called Signature Rooms. The Weinmeister Hotel is located in a 5-minute walk from the famous Alexanderplatz square and the television tower and awaits its guests with its rooftop jacuzzi, lobby bar, and meeting rooms. In order to learn more about their concept, I asked Tamara Formoso, Sales & Marketing Director at The Weinmeister Hotel.

Tamara, could you tell us about The Weinmeister Hotel and the general concept?

The Weinmeister Hotel is art, culture, design, fashion, etc. Basically, it is a microworld directly connected to the city of Berlin.

Even the smallest detail of our hotel tries to connect with "what is Berlin". As an example, our door, a clear sign of our identity, only those who know The Weinmeister know where our entrance is.

The Weinmeister Hotel is not a place that offers only standard rooms. Could you tell us about your exclusive rooms? What was the inspiration?

The Weinmeister is directed towards exclusivity, that means that each experience is different and that is why we have our Signature Rooms. The idea as I explained before is to connect Berlin with the hotel and Signature rooms offer that exclusive design by its creator.

Therefore, it is not the same as sleep in a Large Room as in a Signature Room, because what we sell is an experience. For example, our Signature "Wacken", lives the festival between four walls.

What kind of different experiences could your guests experience at your hotel?

The concept of The Weinmeister offers that "everything is possible", our guests can relax in their rooms where the bed is the key point or live the experience of a Signature Room, in our Rooftop they can relax with a delicious Homemade cocktail and enjoy our Jacuzzi with one of the best views of Berlin or rent it for a private party.

In general, we offer the experiences that our clients wish.

What sets the Weinmeister Hotel apart from other hotels in Berlin?

The aesthetic, we are not a conventional hotel, we are different and we like to be. We want the people who choose us to do it because they like and share the concept of The Weinmeister.

How many types of rooms do you offer? What are its characteristics and price range?

We offer 4 types of rooms: Small Room, Medium Room, Large Room and Signature Room.

Small Room - 22m2 - (ca.109 €). Queen size bed, shower, minimalist design.

Medium Room - 30m2 - (ca.129 €). Queen Size bed, shower, minimalist design with wardrobe behind the bed

Large Room - 40m2 - (ca.169 €) - King Size bed, minimalist design, shower and bathtub, minimalist design, wall hanger plus cabinet.

Signature Rooms - 40m2 - (ca. 200 €) - King Size Bed, totally different and unique designs, shower, bathtub, wall hanger plus cabinet.

Tell us about your services and amenities. How could your guests spend time at The Weinmeister Hotel?

We have a terrace with Jacuzzi on the 6th floor, it is open to the public every day (it is only closed in case it is rented), the Rooftop offers Cocktail Bar and all the comforts that our clients need.

Collaboration with Evo Gym and Holmes Place for our clients, all of them can use the gym during their stay with us for free.

Bar in the Lobby, with a great wine list both national and foreign, great variety of drinks and Homemade Cocktails.

Room Service 24h.

Collaboration with Einstein Kaffee Rosenthaler Straße for our breakfasts, although we also offer "French Breakfast" in our facilities.

And for "Business" customers, we offer our BoardRoom on the 1st floor for meetings.

And when they leave the Hotel The Weinmeister and go out, what can they do?

We are in the heart of Berlin, in the middle of the Mitte district, 5-10 min walk away from the famous Alexanderplatz square and the television tower, 5-10 minutes walk away from the famous museum island.

Hackescher Markt and Rosenthaler Platz are 5 minutes away, where you can find numerous restaurants, bars, and cocktail areas. Berghain /Panorama Bar, Watergate, Visionärie, Kit-Kat club, etc., are between 10 and 20 minutes away with public transport.

What kind of additional services do you offer to business travelers?

Of course, we are attracted to business travelers, we like to give maximum relaxation to our customers. In this case, our reception is open 24h, Room Service 24h, breakfast to take away, laundry service, taxi service in maximum 3 minutes of waiting.

We try to meet the needs that arise at the moment in the best possible way.

How can business travelers make their individual or group bookings? Do you have any advantages package that you offer to business guests?

Of course, through our website, the price is always cheaper than in the different booking portals. We offer Corporate Sales Rates to our clients and companies, that means they can have the same price per room for the whole year even if the demand is high, among many other offers. What is the best season for travelers who want to visit Berlin? What is the reason?

It depends on the expectations of the traveler, my personal recommendation is in summer (June - July - August). Why? Because although in summer most people seek sun and beach the city of Berlin offers incredible possibilities, for example, the pools in the river Spree, beautiful lakes and a contact with nature even if we are in a big city. The nightlife is fantastic, the people are on the street, all the rooftops are open and it is the best way to really live what Berlin is.

On the other hand December, January, and February, the winter season would be another advisable time to come. Although it is cold the city is beautiful at that time. At the end of the year festivities, the fireworks illuminate all Berlin, the cultural offer is enormous and "there is always something to do", it is the best moment to experience the nightlife of this city.

How could you describe Berlin in a sentence?

You will laugh … “You love it or you hate it, there is no middle ground”
