Interview with Sam Luo, Founder and CEO of HALO BACK, about Innovative Smartphone Protectors and Cables

Smartphones are an integral part of our lives. Our smartphones are with us at every step of our daily life and as a result, they are exposed to physical bumps many times during the day and we need to protect them in the best possible way. Sam Luo came up with an idea at this stage and not only aim at protecting he also added functionality to its products. In order to learn more about innovative smartphone protectors, I talked to Sam Luo, Founder and CEO of HALO BACK.

Sam, before start to talking about HALO BACK, could you tell us about yourself and industry background?

I am a maker. I graduated from USTC, a famous Chinese science and technology university. I have been starting a business since graduation for 10 years. And I also worked on the Internet before.

How did you decide to create HALO BACK brand? Could you tell us about HALO BACK? What inspired you?

As a maker, I am eager to make innovative products that really make a difference. And here comes HALO BACK. HALO comes from a song by Beyoncé. I like this song very much, and BACK is a feature of our flagship product (smart screen protector) with a smart back button, so it is called HALO BACK.

I would like to start with HALO BACK Super Cable. What are the features of Super Cable? Which features of your cable made it 'Super'?

It is characterized by its sturdy and ergonomic design. We put Kevlar fiber into the cable. This material is usually used on bulletproof vests, and its strength is 5-10 times that of steel, which is enough to pull an SUV. At the same time, we have a very user-friendly design that allows users to easily distinguish between front and back when using the USB. So it is super.

You developed different solutions to protect smartphones from physical bumps. Please tell us about HALO BACK ScreenArmor.

We apply IonFortify technology to ScreenArmor to perform chemical strengthening on armor glass, so that the protective film can withstand more impact and disperse the impact to protect the mobile phone effectively.

'HALO BACK UltraGuard Bumper' inspired by the Shield of Captain America. What is VibraniumShock technology? How does it help us to protect our smartphones? How did you implant this technology to the HALO BACK UltraGuard Bumper?

It is known that energy only shifts but doesn't disappear, for example, from gravitational potential energy to molecular energy. It is similar to the principle of Captain America's shield. Captain America's shield has high efficient conversion efficiency to withstand Thor hammer. Of course, it is the material that exists in science fiction. In reality, we can find a material with high conversion efficiency, and through the injection molding of multi-layer materials, it is made into a mobile phone case, so that the principle of shock absorption of the mobile phone case is similar to that of the Captain America's shield.

Which features of your designs makes HALO BACK products different from competitors?

Because I am a science student, I think more about product design from a scientific point of view, which may make it different from our competitors.

Do you have any new designs on the drawing table? What should we wait?

Yes, we are planning a new product intensively. It will be used in conjunction with smartphones. It has innovative applications of current technology trends. It is expected to be published in the next three months. I believe it will be a very amazing product. I need to keep it secret for a while. I will tell you to know at the first time :)
