As it wants to tell in its hand-shaped logo, Hôtel La Nouvelle République welcomes its guests with a service concept that attaches importance to every detail to keep its guests safe, peaceful and comfortable. The Hôtel La Nouvelle République, founded by Nicolas Gerschel in 2018, is only a few steps away from the Parisian lifestyle. I talked with Nicolas Gerschel, Owner of Hôtel La Nouvelle République, about Paris and Hôtel La Nouvelle République.

Nicolas, before talking about Hôtel La Nouvelle République, could you tell us about yourself?

My name is Nicolas Gerschel, I am a French entrepreneur based in Paris for 20 years, I used to live in New York back in the '90s.

I have been always interested in having new businesses experiences.

I currently open The Hotel La Nouvelle République to be connected to people and contribute of re-enchanting hospitality in Paris

Hôtel La Nouvelle République is located in the heart of the 11th arrondissement Please tell us about your location and the advantages of being there.

The hotel is located in one of the last genuine quarter of Paris called Oberkampf. All about it is real.

Oberkampf is very laying back, lively night and day with many restaurants, bars, and clubs.

I will recommend it to people with curious open minds, seeking to be part of the Parisian way of life

What is the meaning of the hand in your logo? What does it represent?

In the ancient time, a hand was hanged on doors to protect its inhabitant from "bad eyes". It is a symbol of protection.

We had that in mind and redesigned the hand of "Fatima" in that purpose.

The main has another meaning, as most of the walls, furniture are hand made.

Could you tell us about Hôtel La Nouvelle République and the overall concept?

The hotel is all about hospitality and good energy: providing a place to feel good away from home. sharing all together best intentions.

La Nouvelle République sounds like an invitation to share a new territory ...of good vibrations.

It is all about that.

In Hôtel La Nouvelle République, how many different room types do you offer to your guests? Could you tell us about their features and design details?

We have 30 rooms. There are all designed with the same "protocol": A great bed with plugs all around. The sense of space and great shower from Dornbracht, vintage furniture, vernacular photographies, great natural soap & shampoo

In details:

We have 3 different types of rooms :

The GOOD ones have a queen size bed.

The GOOD GOOD have tin or king size bed

THE TRIPLE GOOD has 3 single beds or king size and single.

All rooms are designed to carry a sense of well being. We work on sound proof with triple glazing, thick doors, double air flow to provide oxygen in rooms. Natural coat with clays in rooms. Of course, modernity with air conditioning, reading lights. We also provide a tablet in all rooms with many features such: chromecast, e-radio, guides of local restaurants, 7000 free E mags, access to Netflix, Spotify, youtube...

What kind of special services do you offer to your guest for making their stay unforgettable?

There are no key services such as that comes to my mind. We provide free coffee, tea etc to our guest all day long.

Our guest stays between 2 to 3 days, and they must feel great here from beginning to end.

Our best service is the team anyway. They do like people and are caring. We help them to highlight their stay with local things to experience (restaurant, exhibition, shopping...)

We do have any mind that some of the guests put aside savings to come to Paris, we respect that.

How could your guest experience the tastes of Paris in Hôtel La Nouvelle République?

We start with a full breakfast always included. It is a real complete breakfast with great ingredients (fresh squeezed orange juice ad libidum, croissant, pain au chocolat, fresh bread, good cheese and ham, artisanal jam, fruit salad, scrambled eggs...

Our guest can chill out all day long with free coffee.

We provide Free bottle of water in our fridge, just help yourself.

We have a Room service with steamed food (no preservative or add it if inside)

How could your guests spend time at Hôtel La Nouvelle République?

They do chill at the coffee lobby.

What kind of additional services do you offer for business travelers?

We have high-speed wifi free of charge of course. We provide parking spot (this is subject to reservation as we do have only 4 spots)

Our guest can leave their luggage in our secure locker room.

Our regular guests have their own locker to leave stuff from one week to the other.

Do you have any advantage packs, special offers and deals that you offer to your regular and long-term guests?

Our regular guests get a discount of course.

How could your guests spend time in your district?

The north east of Paris is full of things to do, close to Place de la République with the Marais right there.

So shopping, art galleries, restaurants, bars, concerts are the key things to do.

If you have only one weekend in Paris as a first-time visitor, in this limited time, what are the best things to do?

I would walk all day long, and choose only One museum, The Musee d'Orsay.

I will then spend the day if to Tuileries have a coffee there. Go to Le Marais for shopping and go to a nice restaurant there.

Get a concert ticket and get drunk in a cocktail bar near the hotel.

How would you describe Paris in one sentence?

Paris is a living paradox of emotions and it is both irreverent and sophisticated.
