Interview with Matt Timura, Co-Founder of Timeless Razor

There are many ways to shave. Although their numbers are decreasing day by day, some traditionalists use straight razors. Most men who want to start every new day with a sparkling face prefer the multi-blade razors and electric shavers offered by world-renowned brands. However, safety razors, that are closest to the skin and offer a safe shaving experience, are the image that comes to mind when razor blades are mentioned. In order to obtain a quality product, high-quality materials must be precisely processed by skilled persons. The Timura family, of which Matt is a member, set out to produce robust and stylish safety razors that can be left from generation to generation and resist the attrition of time. They decided to process durable metals such as stainless steel, titanium, bronze, and aluminum with state-of-the-art metalworking machines, and safety razors bearing the Timeless Razor brand have emerged. I spoke to Matt Timura, Co-Founder of Timeless Razor, to hear the story of Timeless Razor and to learn about the details of safety razors they produce. Matt, before talking about Timeless Razor, I would like to learn a little bit about your team. Could you tell us about your team?

Timeless Razor was started by the Timura family, whose members are machinists who specialize in producing high quality, plastic injection molded parts, and first-class CNC machined parts from all types of metals. With the emergence of cheap low-end razor clubs and the high cost of disposable razors, me, my three brothers, and our father saw a niche for a high-quality razor that would last for generations. This philosophy is where the name Timeless Razor inspired from. The double-edged razor has stood the challenging test of time and will continue to be one of the best ways to get a perfect shave time after time.

At Timeless Razor, we believe that going cheap and taking shortcuts is not always the right way to go. That is why we only use high-quality materials and precision machining techniques to produce the best razors possible.

What are the features and advantages of Timeless Razor?

Timeless Razor produces luxury safety razors that will last forever, look great, and, most importantly, shave great.

What type of materials do you prefer in the production process? What are their differences?

We use solid Stainless Steel, Titanium, Bronze, and Aluminum. The Stainless is our first design, and we have the most handle option with this one. It also looks best, in my opinion. The Titanium was released after many requests and is my favorite for shaving due to its lightweight. The stainless and titanium both come in 3 different base plate styles (solid bar for little growth, Scalloped; for 2-3 days growth, and Open Comb; for 4-5 days growth and or thick coarse hair. They also come with two different blade gaps (Aggressive .95 mm and Mild .68mm). The Bronze is a great looking razor, but does patina or tarnish quickly upon use. This takes a lot of upkeep to maintain its shine, but many customers prefer to let it age. The bronze comes in two versions; Open Comb (Aggressive .78 mm blade gap) and Solid Bar (mild .38 mm blade gap). The aluminum is a more affordable lightweight luxury razor that gives a fantastic smooth shave. This comes in only one version as a kit in .45 mm blade gap with a solid bar base plate, handle, and stand.

Which features of your design make Timeless Razor unique and different from competitors?

Timeless is unique to our competitors in that we are the ones that are making the razors from scratch. We do not have them made elsewhere and shipped to us. We have most items in stock and ship the same day or the next.

How many different types of Timeless Razor do you offer? How many different parts do we need to complete the set?

We have too many options to list, but all you will need for a great shave is a handle, baseplate, and cap. You can then get a stand if you prefer to display your razor on your sink. This is a great look in any bathroom.
