There are thousands of coffee roasting techniques in the world. But you may not find the taste you want even among such a variety, because the taste of coffee changes in every second while roasting. While Luke and his wife looking for a new taste that fits them, they discovered their passion for coffee roasting. This passion has turned into a business, this business turned into a brand that supports firefighters. Fire Dept. Coffee. I talked to Luke Schneider, Founder and CEO of Fire Dept. Coffee, about Freshly Roasted Taste and his future plans.

Luke, before start to talking about Fire Department Coffee, please you tell us about yourself.

My name is Luke Schneider. I am a Navy veteran, Firefighter, and founder of Fire Dept. Coffee.

Could you tell us about Fire Department Coffee story? What was the inspiration? Whose idea was it?

I started drinking coffee in the military out of necessity, to stay awake during long hours and late nights. We discovered a passion for roasting high-quality coffee when my wife and I began roasting together. Since then, we have made it our mission to give back to our nation's heroes, by donating a portion of every order to military and firefighter charities. Our coffee can also be found in Fire Departments, offices, and other businesses, providing the easiest-drinking coffee to hard-working men and women across the globe.

Please tell us about the team behind this taste.

Our team is made up of a dedicated crew who believe in our cause. They love being able to provide freshly roasted coffee to the people who need it most, all while giving back to those who daily put their life on the line.

You have a different brand philosophy about the roast process and packaging timing. What is 'Fresh Roasted' means? What makes Fire Department Coffee different from standard coffee packs on the racks?

Our Coffee is roasted to order, which means you order, we then roast it and ship it to you right away. This gives our coffee that freshly roasted taste when it arrives at your door. Your coffee stays fresh longer that way, unlike when buying coffee that has been sitting on a shelve for what could be months.

Could you describe the taste of Fire Department Coffee? What are the features of your coffee?

We are frequently told that all of our coffees are very smooth and they have a fresh, rich flavor. We roast each type of bean separately and at just the right temperatures to bring out the best taste in every batch.

Where do your coffee beans come from? Why do you prefer these coffee beans?

Our coffee beans come from all over - Nicaragua, Uganda, Brazil, etc. We choose these beans for their taste, high quality and for the environmentally responsible way they are farmed.

Everybody loves coffee and everybody respects firefighters, but lots of us do not have an opportunity to support firefighters. You described Fire Department Coffee as 'great coffee for a great cause'. What does it mean?

Our mission is to give back to those who take risks and make sacrifices to serve others every day. We do this by giving a portion of each order to military and firefighter charities, and we are also in the process of creating our own foundation to help firefighters injured in the line of duty. First responders and military always receive a 15% discount with us as well.

Depending on the type you order, we have 6lb, 5lb, 1lb and 14oz bags of coffee, as well as our Single Serve Cups that are compatible with Keurig machines.

Social media has become part of our coffee time. How do you use social media for Fire Department Coffee? How can our readers follow Fire Department Coffee?

How can our readers buy Fire Department Coffee?

What is coming up next for you and Fire Department Coffee?
