SHARK Sport Watch is founded by a group of sports and fashion lover in 1997. With their four different collections, they would like to offer affordable design watches to their customers, this is their sole target. They are designing their watches by adding soul of shark in addition to feedback and requests from their customers. And each time, they focus on to reflect all their philosophy to the SHARK Sport Watch. I talked to Leo Yip, Founder and CEO of SHARK Sport Watch, to learn more about the SHARK soul and future plans of the brand.

Leo, could you tell us about the story behind the SHARK Watch idea? How did SHARK Watch start?

We are the sports lovers and also like fashion. Starting from 1997, we would like to develop something special and represent our belief. We would like to present our belief via the watch and show what is about uniqueness and specialty. The SHARK Sport Watch is not for all but only for those whose are strong to pursuit the truth and love.

Actually, we have developed the SHARK Sport Watch over 20 years and we are still holding this belief to innovate our style of watch.

Could you tell us about SHARK Watch?

SHARK Sport Watch is founded by a group of sports and fashion lover. We like innovation and style. We keep improving our design, look and feel to impress our target audiences. We believe, SHARK Sport Watch is providing some new experiences to our fans such that they could spend a fair price to obtain more than expected customer experiences. We will continue to use the spirit of SHARK to explore more new items for our fans.

Please tell us about the design process of SHARK watches. How do your design team discover new inspirations for every new design?

Our design is always thinking out of the box and always gives a new challenge to our manufacturer. By the way, we would always think of our fans and see how to inject more innovative ideas onto the watch or the overall design of SHARK watch.

You have four different collections. Could you tell us about their concepts? How many different designs do you offer?

Four different collections are only the starting of our thought. We will extend it. All our collections are coming from the idea of our fans. We collect their needs and separates them according to their needs. The designs are also commented from all our fans and come to the end.

What are the features of SHARK watches?

SHARK Sport Watch is iconic of the strong individual to pursue the change. We put a lot of special materials, look and feels such that the person will change differently when wearing SHARK Sport Watch.

Which features of your design makes SHARK watches different from competitors?

Actually, we will use a lot of concept from SHARK to distinguish our design and message to tell our fans. It is nothing about the raw material and we actually want to tell our fans about the spirit of Shark and you can be the SHARK！

How often does SHARK add a new watch to the collection?

Not regularly but likely a quarter a new series

Which materials and movement do you use on SHARK watches? Who decides to right material for each part, is it designer’s choice or watchmakers decision?

We use the trendy material and latest movement in SHARK watches. The brand team has the right to decide which new watch coming in.

Do you prefer trade shows for introducing your watches to retailers and wholesalers? What do you think about the efficiency of trade shows in this online era?

Yes, we will discuss our watch and get the retailer via the trade show. Online is one of the ways to sell our products.

What do you enjoy most about using SHARK watch?

SHARK Sport Watch represents the spirit of the Shark. We all love the shark. We love the world.
