In order to learn more about the details of their rooms, location, and services I talked to Garivaldy Ubiera, Sales Manager at Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana.

Garivaldy, before talking about Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana, could you tell us about your background and your career in AMResorts?

Garivaldy Ubiera

I’ve been with the AMResorts family for nearly 5 years now. I started off as a Social Media Coordinator & eConcierge at Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa, and after 3 years, decided to venture into the Sales department. My first experience in this field was at the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana & Now Larimar Punta Cana properties as a Tour & Travel Manager, and 10 months after, was offered the Sales Manager position at Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana, where I have been since February of this year. Working at AMResorts has been such a growing experience and I honestly couldn’t be any happier.

You are living in Punta Cana where people dream of spending their holidays. How does it feel? Where do you prefer to go on your holidays?

It feels amazing! Punta Cana offers great weather all year round, which means it is always a good time to go to the beach or for an outdoor adventure. When on vacation, I love doing ecotourism. Some of the activities the country offers include rafting, paragliding, horseback riding, visiting breathtaking waterfalls and natural reserves, just to name a few.

Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana is located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Could you tell us about your location, environment, and the advantages of being there?

In my opinion, the best part about living in Punta Cana is being able to find anything you would in big a city, just a short drive away - without the hustle and bustle. In the town of Bávaro, there are movie theaters, shopping malls, restaurants, bars and many places of recreation for all ages.

Could you tell us about Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana and the overall concept?

Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana is best described as an intimate sanctuary of supreme relaxation integrated with natures. Our resort is a 96-suite boutique haven located in the unspoiled beach of Uvero Alto, and our Endless Privileges® concept means everything is included.

How many different suite options do you offer to your guests? Could you tell us about their features?

We offer 13 room categories, including opulent multi-bedroom villas that can accommodate up to 9 guests. What makes our suites and villas really unique is the eco-friendly architecture, featuring hardwood floors, cane-thatched roofs, and natural stone touches. As far as the room views, guests can choose between peaceful gardens, dazzling pools or the breathtaking ocean.

What kind of special services do you offer to your guest for making their stay unforgettable?

As part of our Endless Privileges® concept, all of our guests receive a complimentary 20-minute spa treatment, unlimited access to our relaxing hydrotherapy circuit, a 45-minute horseback ride on the beach and personalized butler service throughout the entire stay.

At our Amaya Restaurant, guests can savor European-inspired fusion cuisine from around the world. Our Indigo Restaurant serves up a light international fare in a beautiful beachfront setting. Our Olena Restaurant offers delectable Italian fare in a very intimate atmosphere, and at Piragua, guests can be delighted with our sensational Caribbean cuisine.

And there are three other places that your guests can drink and enjoy. Could you tell us about bars and their features? What are the most popular traditional drinks?

All three of our bars offer a variety of top-shelf international and domestic spirits without limit. Guests can choose from an array of Caribbean cocktails at our swim-up wet bar, Caicú. Our beachside bar, Indigo, serves up refreshing drinks with an ocean view, and our Canoa Lobby Bar, open from 10 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., is the heart of entertainment each night with live musicians, flamenco dance shows and more.

Our resort is surrounded by the natural beauty of the island and countless culturally-enriching attractions nearby. The most popular excursion has to be Saona Island, a scenic island located off of the south-east tip of the Dominican Republic with incredible turquoise water, enormous starfish and limestone cliffs.

Which bride would not want to be the bride of a wedding in Punta Cana? Could you tell us about your wedding services? What could you offer to make their special day more special?

We offer two wedding packages to make sure every bride’s special day is simply perfect. The rehearsal dinner, ceremony, private cocktail hour and reception are just some of the details our expert on-site wedding coordinator will handle. On the wedding day, our spa offers the perfect place to relax, enjoy a bridal manicure, or bask in the bliss of a sensuous couple’s massage. Our wedding venues include a scenic garden gazebo overlooking the turquoise sea and various indoor and outdoor spaces.

What kind of additional services do you offer for the businessperson who cannot leave their business life behind?

Our professional Business Event Coordinators are experts at making sure everything needed for a conference, seminar, retreat or other business function is perfectly provided. We will help you coordinate all your indoor and outdoor meeting facilities as well as any A/V or computer equipment needs. We will also help you coordinate private parties with live entertainment, transportation, golf outings to the area’s best courses and any other tours, special requests or requirements you may have.

In addition to all these services, you are an environmentally friendly business. Could you tell us about your social responsibility programs and your green initiatives?

We are deeply committed to protecting and preserving the spectacular environmental beauty and delicate eco-system that surrounds our resort. Our hotel services are matched by our uncompromising green initiatives including waste recycling program for glass, paper, cardboard, PET, aluminum, etc., reducing our diesel consumption by more than 50% and beach cleanup campaigns every 15 days.

There are plenty of places to visit outside the resort. Which is the top season for travelers who want to visit Punta Cana?

With the blessing of our “endless summer”, any time of the year is perfect to visit Punta Cana. However, one of the most popular times would be from the beginning of January through the end of March.

How do you describe Punta Cana in one sentence?

A little piece of heaven on Earth.
