After qualifying under heavy rain, the race at Mobility Resort Motegi circuit took place on a dry track. Australian rider Jack Miller, known for his performance in rainy weather, showed his talent again on the dry track and managed to win the race, which he started in seventh place. Jack Miller finished the race at an average speed of 162.7 km/h and was ahead of his closest competitor by 3.409 seconds.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's South African rider Brad Binder crossed the finish line in second place after Jack Miller, while Prima Pramac Racing's Spanish rider Jorge Martin took his place on the podium with finishing the race in third place. Repsol Honda Team rider Marc Marquez, who won the 91st pole position of his career in yesterday's qualifying, finished the race in fourth place.
Championship leader Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP rider Fabio Quartararo finished eighth at the Motul Grand Prix of Japan. Ducati Lenovo Team rider Francesco Bagnaia, who is second behind Fabio Quartararo in the championship, out of the race in an attack to pass Fabio Quartararo with one lap to go. The point gap between the two riders increased to 18. The next race, the Thailand Grand Prix, will be held at the Buriram International Circuit from September 30 to October 2, 2022.
