The first step in combating climate change is to balance carbon emissions. Turkish Airlines will first balance the carbon emissions caused by the travels of its personnel with the project called Co2mission.
The wider feature of the Co2mission project, which was activated on August 1, 2022, is that it offers passengers the opportunity to balance the carbon emissions created by their flight. Regardless of which airline they fly, passengers can complete the carbon offset process on the Co2mission system whenever they want.
The Co2mission program offers passengers different options to balance their carbon emissions. Among them, there are options on renewable energy and forestation. Passengers who want to offset the carbon emissions from their flights can purchase a United Nations accredited emission reduction certificate in order to contribute as much as they want to a project of their choice.
Passengers can either contribute to the Co2mission project while purchasing their tickets, or they can then calculate the carbon emissions created by their flights on the website prepared by Turkish Airlines for Co2mission and purchase the necessary certificates.
