In 1966, Paul Van Doren, James Van Doren, and Gordon C. Lee opened the first Vans store under the name The Van Doren Rubber Company, and the legendary brand was born. The shoes they offered for sale in the store they opened in Anaheim, California, were very much appreciated, and they started developing different models. Mark Van Doren, son of James Van Doren, one of the founders of the company, both designed the company's logo and inspired the decision that will determine the future of the company with his passion for skateboarding.
